Can you beat the world champion? As World Scrabble Champion 2016 and MSA Scrabble Ambassador ,Mr Brett Smitheram is ready to be challenged in the MSA Scrabble Tournament Game.
Can you beat the world champion?
Brett Smitheram from Chingford defeated fellow Briton Mark Nyman in three straight rounds during the contest's final in the French city of Lille. The 37-year-old's highest scoring word was BRACONID, meaning a parasitic wasp, which earned him 176 points.
Mr Smitheram said he was "absolutely thrilled to have won".
Brett has been playing competitive tournament Scrabble for 20 years and has been consistently one of the highest rated players in the UK and world, as he is the world number 1, and has won the trophy for UK highest rated player on 3 occasions.
Are you up for the Challenge?
We will be running a series of 10 minute games on Thursday 13th October from 19.00 to 22:00, and Sunday 16th October at 17:00 to 19:00.
Brett will take screen shots of his games; these will be loaded for viewing on the main site.
Send in your email and username to firstname.lastname@example.org with your preferred date and we will be selecting players at random to decide the order of play. The team at MSA will contact you with your time. Please note due to a large response if you are not chosen this time your name will be re-submitted for the next date.
If you are chosen and have the technology we would welcome your screen shots and videos showcasing your side of the challenge to be posted on the site, these will be checked before we publish.
