it was a Death & Taxes version, just splashing blue for this new creature and other hate bears such as Meddling Mage. It's Clear that Spell Queller has come to stay, since now we have another old archetype which has carved some space for it:

We have already discussed about Spell Queller in this #ModernWeek - it was a Death & Taxes version, just splashing blue for this new creature and other hate bears such as Meddling Mage. It's Clear that Spell Queller has come to stay, since now we have another old archetype which has carved some space for it:

4 Flickerwisp
4 Restoration Angel
4 Spell Queller
4 Wall of Omens
3 Snapcaster Mage
3 Eldrazi Displacer
2 Vendilion Clique
3 Serum Visions
4 Path to Exile
2 Mana Leak
2 Ojutai's Command
2 Remand
4 Flooded Strand
3 Celestial Colonnade
3 Island
3 Plains
2 Glacial Fortress
2 Hallowed Fountain
2 Mystic Gate
2 Windswept Heath
1 Ghost Quarter
1 Moorland Haunt

Sideboard
1 Gideon Jura
2 Kitchen Finks
2 Ancestral Vision
1 Celestial Purge
2 Condemn
3 Dispel
1 Engineered Explosives
2 Stony Silence
1 Worship

Exactly, UW Midrange. MODO user TheArchitect managed to do a perfect run at a Modern Competitive League with this list.

UW Midrange is not exactly new - the first success came at GP Lyon 2012 in the capable hands of Emanuel Sutor, where it lost in the Finals. After that it took a step back, but Spell Queller can bring it again to tier1 status.

Last Tuesday we saw the many synergies of Spell Queller - but there are more! Let's assume you exiled a Counterspell which now would be useless if cast again, and our opponent plays another spell. Why don't we exile our Spell Queller with Restoration Angel, let the Counterspell free (with no targets other than our opponent's original spell) and target this new spell with the Spell Queller? Why having a two for one when we can have even a three for one?

The synergies do not end here. Ojutai's Command bringing back a Snapcaster Mage and flashbacking another spell is a expensive play but it is also the best definition of Magical Christmas Land. We have also the latest star: Eldrazi Displacer, which improves all of our other creatures.

If we have such good and evasive creatures, and can generate such card advantage, why don't you give this deck a try?
